Research blog: Music Video Conventions

 Good night everyone, I am back with another update on my music video partnered with my best friend Kendia. We were having a block on inspiration, hence, we searched up songs and cover songs of The Lazy Song by Bruno Mars. In the first video we watched, which was the original music video by Bruno Mars, we observed the way he sang, danced, and acted along with his partnering monkey crew. We also noticed that as the costume for the video, all the characters wore a plaid long sleeve shirt with black pants. We also took notice that the setting was the same place for the entire video. Also, there was no specific dance routine for the whole video. The actors just had fun with it and synchronized on some parts. In the video, they also used extreme close shots and long or wide shots. In the next video, we watched to boost our inspiration, we watched a cover video in which a group of girls put their twist and style to the song. Like in common with the original music video, the setting was the same place throughout the whole video. They also had no specific dance routine for the entire video and just had a good time dancing while syncing on some parts. They wore snuggies, which gave us the feeling of being comfortable and just wanting to relax and doing nothing all day, which we can relate to. They also used extreme close up shots and long or wide shots. In another video we watched together was of a girl that made her complete version based on the original song. We watched how she did her video and looked to see if she used any transitions, angles, or shots. We noticed that she used a panning scene to transition. We also noticed that she used medium shots, long shots, extreme close up shots, and wide shots. For her setting, it was inside her house. However, instead of staying in one place, she moved all around her house. From her kitchen to the bathroom to the living room, she was everywhere. We also saw that she used her siblings/relatives as characters to help her bring some life to some of the scenes. Based on the videos we watched we gathered some ideas and hope that as we plan our scenes for our videos, new ideas will even emerge. H ey, Everyone and welcome back to another update on our video. We have finally finished the video and added the last finishing touches. As you all know, for this assignment we were allowed to work with a partner or individually. We chose each other since we were in the same class period and thought it was best to have someone to work with. For our music video project, we chose to do a cover of “The Lazy Song” by Bruno Mars. Starting the final task

Hi, my name is Melissa Meme, and welcome😊. These new set of blogs will document my partner and I's journey as we work on this final task. Last time, I worked on a music video before the winter break. In this new project, we are to create an opening scene for a movie. This time I would be introducing myself all over again. I am currently an 11th grader who is attending Fort Lauderdale High School. I am a Haitian American who is somewhat fluent in Haitian Creole. I am plan in the future to work in the medical field. Genre Research: Action

  Earlier this year, I had to create a PowerPoint on a genre of my choice. We were also given the choice to work with a partner for this project. Hence, for this project, I worked with my best friend. I talk to her every day and we are in the same class, so this was the best option. When picking our genre, we chose “action” as this is the type of genre we seem to watch a lot in the past year in movies and shows. When doing our research we watched and looked at trusted websites to acquire knowledge of what methods or materials are used to produce action movies. We researched what lightings are used in action movies. We also researched the angles that are used in action movies. We also researched the camera movements, mise en scenes, and sounds involved/used in action movies. From the information we obtained, some common lighting in the genre of action is low-key lighting and backlighting.
