"The Lazy Song" Music Video Cover

Hey, Everyone and welcome back to another update on our video. We have finally finished the video and added the last finishing touches. As you all know, for this assignment we were allowed to work with a partner or individually. We chose each other since we were in the same class period and thought it was best to have someone to work with. For our music video project, we chose to do a cover of “The Lazy Song” by Bruno Mars. We choose this song since we can relate to being lazy, procrastinating, or the feeling of just not wanting to do anything. We did have some things in our way, however. Kendia’s mom had changed her mind about letting her come to my house after we had already done our storyboard. With her being at her cousin's house we had to rearrange some of the days that we were going to film. Regardless of that, we were able to meet up and finish the music video. In our research stage, we noticed that many people copied what was done in the original music video. They had either done a dance routine or song cover. For this project, we needed to be able to tell a story. Therefore, we did the video by acting out the lyrics being sung. We felt that this made our cover a little different from the ones we saw when we did our research and related to how we feel day by day. We used multiple shots and angles in our video. To name a few, we used an over the shoulder, tracking shot, and a pan.  For the music video, we had to act out more compared to our past filming projects. For example, in our commercials, there was less acting since the focus was more on the product we were advertising than the person. Our acting skills were also not that great. It was hard being lazy on cue and not laughing when you know that you are being recorded. So be aware that you will see us laughing at certain moments in the video. We are humans after all and we are not professional actors. With that being said we hope you guys enjoy our music video as we had a lot of fun making it.
