Planning Blog: Title Design

Process: We first gave our suggestions and from there we talked about what should be our final Studio and Production Company name. For our studio name, I suggested names: KM or MK Studios . For our Production company name I also suggested MeDia Production Company or that we could use our favorite color, purple, as our production company name. Kendia then suggested that we could combine purple and MeDia and make our production company name: Purple MeDia Production Company. The “Me” in MeDia comes from the two first letters of Melissa’s name. The “Dia” in MeDia comes from the last three letters of Kendia’s Name. She also then suggested that we could name our studio Melikur Studios. I like this studio name as it combines a nickname we have for each other.


Final Names: STUDIO-  Melikur Studios

PRODUCTION COMPANY- Purple MeDia Production

Title Cards:

  • Actor Names- Kendia, Melissa, and Siblings/family. We might use our siblings to act in our final task but we have not decided yet.

  • Film Title- Captive: The Kidnapping. Along the way, we might want to change the title but for now this will be our film title

  • Music By- We will put the artist name of the song we chose which at this moment is undecided.

  • Edited By- Kendia Banks and Melissa Meme

Titles: Since this is a crime thriller we vision for the titles to be in the color red. We took this idea from the “Us” movie we researched. We did not want to use a light color that would prevent our viewers to see the titles. We also know that usually red is associated with thrillers or horror movies since there is fighting on        some bloody scenes. Here is an example of how our font would look: Directed By

This will also be the only font we use throughout the whole opening scene.

The font will also be big enough for most viewers to see without needing glasses and will be displayed as the scene is being carried out.

Most likely the titles will be displayed where there is a dark background behind ensuring that it doesn’t blend in with the background.

For example, as the girl is getting ready you may see the title on her glass mirror as it would definitely stand out.

The titles will also fade in and fade out in the scene, most likely lingering for 2-3 seconds before disappearing.

The tile of our opening acne for right now is: Captive: The Kidnapping

H ey, Everyone and welcome back to another update on our video. We have finally finished the video and added the last finishing touches. As you all know, for this assignment we were allowed to work with a partner or individually. Starting the final task

Hi, my name is Melissa Meme, and welcome😊. These new set of blogs will document my partner and I's journey as we work on this final task. Last time, I worked on a music video before the winter break. In this new project, we are to create an opening scene for a movie. This time I would be introducing myself all over again. I am currently an 11th grader who is attending Fort Lauderdale High School. I am a Haitian American who is somewhat fluent in Haitian Creole. I am plan in the future to work in the medical field. Genre Research: Action

  Earlier this year, I had to create a PowerPoint on a genre of my choice. We were also given the choice to work with a partner for this project. Hence, for this project, I worked with my best friend. I talk to her every day and we are in the same class, so this was the best option. When picking our genre, we chose “action” as this is the type of genre we seem to watch a lot in the past year in movies and shows. When doing our research we watched and looked at trusted websites to acquire knowledge of what methods or materials are used to produce action movies. We researched what lightings are used in action movies. We also researched the angles that are used in action movies. We also researched the camera movements, mise en scenes, and sounds involved/used in action movies.
