When my partner and I did our research we looked at the original music video, covers, parodies, and dance covers to the song. We noticed that in most videos people copied certain parts of the original music video such as a group of people wearing costumes such as a plaid long sleeve shirt with sweatpants, monkey masks, and sunglasses. Some videos had snuggies or pajamas, and the setting of these videos would usually be in a bedroom or living room space. We also noticed that in that people did some synchronized dancing such as move their head from side to side but most people copied the dance moves and movements from the original video. As part of our rubric for this music video, we were supposed to tell a story through our music video. Since these common conventions did not really show or tell a story we just made our own twist. H ey, Everyone and welcome back to another update on our video. We have finally finished the video and added the last finishing touches. As you all know, for this assignment we were allowed to work with a partner or individually. We chose each other since we were in the same class period and thought it was best to have someone to work with. For our music video project, we chose to do a cover of “The Lazy Song” by Bruno Mars. We choose this song since we can relate to being lazy, procrastinating, or the feeling of just not wanting to do anything. We did have some things in our way, however. Kendia’s mom had changed her mind about letting her come to my house after we had already done our storyboard. With her being at her cousin's house we had to rearrange some of the days that we were going to film. Regardless of that, we were able to meet up and finish the music video.  Hi, everyone I hope those who are reading had a great week so far, and welcome to a new blog. In my last blog, I talked about my partner and I being able to start filming for our music video. We got done with filming this week. Overall the filming process was fun but it took some time. It is because my partner and I  had to show my sister how to shot the scene and we usually had to practice acting out the scene. We are not experienced at acting but we tried our best to act out the scenes. There were times when we had to redo the video because we were either not prepared or we just kept on smiling or laughing. We also took many retakes so that we had a variety of videos to choose from when it is time to edit. When we finished filming we took all of the recordings and dumped them on Kendia's computer.  Hello everyone and welcome to a new blog. In my last blog, I mentioned that my partner and I could not film during the break so we faced some delays. During our break, we also had changed our filming location. Originally we were supposed to film at Kendia's house but her mom said she would have to film at my house. During the break, Kendia stayed with her cousins so her mom said I would have to film at her cousin's house. Our new filming location will be at Kendia's cousin's house since she is staying there. In our last blog, we scheduled the days we would film for the week.  We decided to film on Tuesday, December 2, and Wednesday, December 3. On Tuesday, December 2, when school ended I started preparing my costume, which are pajama pants, socks, and a jacket, and props.
